We are so thankful to have Chris on our board of directors. She has put in so much time and efforts in helping better our organization. Congratulations Chris on your induction into the West Virginia Executive Magazine Health Care Hall of Fame.
West Virginia hospice pioneer, Chris Zinn, MSc, RN, CHPN, was inducted into the West Virginia Executive Magazine Health Care Hall of Fame, Class of 2021, Thursday night at Embassy Suites in Charleston. At the celebration, Chris was joined by her family, HospiceCare CEO Chris Rawlings, Director of Communications & Development Jessica Hall and Marketing Coordinator Jeff Sikorovsky, as well as two founding board members and long-time supporters, Nancy Martin and Dr. David Clayman.
Chris joined HospiceCare in 1984, first working as a nurse volunteer and then as our first hired nurse. In 2001, Chris helped establish our Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, the state’s first in-patient hospice facility that served as a model for others. She served as its administrator until 2007 and has since assisted HospiceCare in a variety of support and consulting roles while serving as the executive director of the Hospice Council of WV.
